Shihan doug Benjamin has been training under Sensei Nichols since 1992. Shihan Benjamin has been teaching in Vestavia Hills since 1995.

An experienced Karate competitor, Shihan Doug Benjamin's true talent lies in being a student of Karate. Being a Karate Instructor has been Shihan Benjamin's biggest learning experience. "I like to use little tricks to teach with, and the needs of the student dictate trick. This in turn teaches me, making me a better student." Shihan Benjamin combines a hard work ethic with a sense of humor to get the best out of himself and his students. Shihan Benjamin is easy to spot carrying his signature golf bag bristling with Karate weapons.

Shihan Benjamin has competed in National and Alabama Tounaments, and
holds several State titles.
