Instructor: Shihan Camp Place Of Training: Albertville dojo I love IKF Karate because: Your Answer: I love Karate because it gives me more confidence in myself. I have to say, that self defense is my favorite. I say that because I am learning how to defend myself in case of an attack and to be aware of my surroundings at all times. We sometimes take for granted that nothing could ever happen to us but it can. It is so fascinating to me to see just how many different techniques you can use to get out of a situation. What I love most is that there is always something new to learn that makes you feel like, hey I can do that. Every aspect of karate excites me from katas, weapons to sparring. IKF is also focused on women and I like that alot. We have women's awareness classes, and womens fight classes that I am grateful for. I am very fortunate to be involved with such a great organization. Shihan Camp is an awesome instructor whom I really admire for all she has accomplished. I look up to her for inspiration, drive and determination. I ! know I have to step up my game to succeed in karate. I want to do the best that I can to make myself, the organization, and Shihan Camp proud. The only regret I have is not getting started in karate sooner Monday, May 4. 2009

Instructor: Sensei Rayburn Nichols Place Of Training: Centerpoint Dojo and Cahaba Heights dojo I love IKF Karate because: Your Answer: I have so many reasons to love karate, it‘s made me so happy through the years. I’ve been in karate for two and a half years and I’m as happy as the day I started. I love it for all of the opportunities it has provided me with and the things that it has taught me. The number one reason I love karate is the people. I have considered them as family since I started. Everyone in karate has a love and respect for everything that they do, they are always kind and fun. Since karate I have gained a second family. I have met many people that are very close to my heart. Another reason I love karate is what I’ve learned. I’ve learned responsibility, leadership, to be more comfortable with myself and my body. I have become more outgoing since starting karate. I’ve also learned that working hard does pay off in the long run. I have learned how much I love teaching and working with children, and how much I love working with other people. Monday, May 4. 2009

Instructor: Sensei Nichols Place Of Training: Albertville/CenterPoint I love IKF Karate because: Your Answer: My love for Karate is like life: You have mountains to climb, some higher than others. You have challenges, some more than others. You have goals, some are short-term, and some are long. How you adapt, handle, and face life’s challenges demonstrates the true perfection of one’s character. If you were to ask yourself, in all honesty, “How hard could it be, learning how to punch and kick?” You would assume that there is not much to it. However, the real question is, “How well do I want to be able to punch and kick?” Over the course of time, one begins to question whether it’s really about punching and kicking at all. Suddenly, you see things in a different light. You experience the sweating, the training, the bumps, the bruises, and the frustration of wanting to be just a little bit better. In time, it separates the “like” from the “love”, and the “wannabe’s” from the “I am’s”. Anyone can push himself or herself, as far, and as hard as they want to go. You can be as good as you would like, without limits, or boundaries. Karate and life: they are what you make it. And that is why I love IKF Karate. Monday, May 4. 2009

Instructor: Mr.Johnson Place Of Training: Vestavia Central Elementry School I love IKF Karate because: Your Answer: The reason I love IKF Karate is because our instructor tells us about heart ever since he said that I have improved in Karate. Also I love our instructor he is the best! When we do all our katas and moves I don't feel like a wimp,I FEEL LIKE I HAVE HEART! Over the months we have done testing I thought it will take me a long time to get up to my blue belt but here I am a proud blue belt and someday I am going to be a black belt! I come to karate not only to learn self-defense but to learn discipline and heart! On my last practice I was aching all over but you know what ever since I had heart I kept GOING!! The reason I started karate is because it looked like it was fun. It has taught me discipline to use at home, school and karate. I have played all kinds of sports and it looked new and exciting. It has taught me how to defend myself everywhere and taught me control and quickness that I can use in other sports. It has also taught me to be on time. I also have to do pushups.

I am 4 years old. I am a purple belt. My instructors name is Mrs. Mccord. I love karate because I get to do exercise. I love fighting and learning new stuff. I love to test and see black belts they are nice.I love it because it teaches you discipline and how to say yes mam, and yes sir. and it teaches you to say thank you. When I was little my parents try to teach me to say that, but i never listen. When I got in karate Mrs. Mccord makes me. I listen to her when she taught me.

I am a fourth grader at boaz. The reason I love karate is that you learn to protect yourself. Another reason I Love karate is that you can get different kinds of color belts. You also get to have fun and play games that are about karate. I like to do katas. I like to do punches. Theres so many things you can do in karate. You can do weapons, kicks, rolls, ratchet kicks, and the ones I already said, katas and punches. I love karate so much. Theres so much to do. So why dont you join us. It will be fun.

I love karate because you can make people do push-ups when you are a higher belt. You can do high kicks. You can get new weapons. I like the nunchucks because you can swing them around and do cool moves with them. I like 27 Movements; it's pretty short. It's the last movement. When you're a higher belt, you can get different weapons like the sword. Karate is really fun and can I can teach my brother. I'm already teaching him, who is only four years old. I like that you can meet new friends and you can see some old friends. When you're a black belt, you do old katas like at yellow belt.

I love karate because is stretches your muscles and makes you more flexible. You learn new katas and get a new rank. Katas make your arm muscles stronger.
